With a seating capacity of 4,534 for Honey Badgers games, FirstOntario Centre brings fans close to the action for an intimate world class basketball experience. The concourse will be filled with entertainment elements that will appeal to all ages prior to and during Honey Badgers games.
Located at 101 York Blvd in Hamilton, Ontario, FirstOntario Centre is one of North America’s premier sports and entertainment venues. The arena was host to the first-ever training camp for the NBA’s Toronto Raptors prior to their inaugural 1995-96 season, and now it is host to a new basketball experience with the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Formerly known as Copps Coliseum, the arena opened in 1985 and is owned by the City of Hamilton. Sports tenants past and present have included the Hamilton Steelhawks (OHL, 1985-88), Dukes of Hamilton (OHL, 1989-91), Hamilton Skyhawks (WBL/NBL 1992-93), Hamilton Canucks (AHL 1992-94), Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL 1996-2015), Ontario Raiders (NLL 1988), Toronto Raptors (NBA occasional home games 1995-97), and Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL 2015-present).
